Using the Automatic Billing Updater service helps secure ongoing relationships while locking in revenue, making cash flow more predictable, reducing processing costs, maintaining service continuity, and strengthening cardholder satisfaction.
How it Works:
- Merchants can enroll through National for Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.
- Card issuers submit electronic files with updates when a cardholder's account information changes.
- Card Issuers are required to send these file updates within two business days and are strongly encouraged to send them daily to ensure that account-on-file merchants have the advantage of the latest authorization data.
- The merchant’s credit card information is sent to National who then processes inquiries against its database and provides responses.
- Participating merchants are required to update their customer account databases in accordance with Terms of Use
